First day at the new job, there is a group of 10 of us, they all seem nice. Less than a 20 minute drive from home. Across the road from Spotlight and the Plaza, boy am I going to have to be strong, especially with a 1 hour lunch break.
I haven't cast on the second ugly sock yet. I have started on some for a baby boy due in the next week or so. Patonyle again, blue sock striping I really like it, I have two balls so might make some for myself.

You must be working in Penrith? I grew up in that area. I notice Spotlight have had some good sales recently on yarn...am trying to keep away!! Luckily there's not one around where I live! Well done on your new job - hope it goes well for you.
Hope you enjoy the Pullman trilogy. They are some of my favourite books, although I think there are some pretty heavy ideas in there, considering it is touted as children's literature. Still, it seems that they have watered it down a bit for the movie, so it will probably just be an adventure film, in the tradition of Narnia or Lord of the Rings. The third book in the series is the most concerning in terms of attacking christianity (or any religion).
